normally the serial port to use to connect to the terminal is the 9pin one at the back of the server right? I use a null modem and i try 3270 emulation vt100, vt102 with no results. here is the model number at the front of the machine 26-05848.
the size of the case is about 50cm deep by 40 cm high by 40 cm . there is place for 16 slots. the pre-owner told me it's a power3 cpu. there's 128simms of ram in it. so i may have abour 512meg of ram in it if they are all 4 megs each. one chip on the board mention the 1994 date on it. also, there is a led display mentionning the number 263 on it when it is booted up after a good 15 - 20 mins.
my goal is to document myself in order to fully establish a terminal session with this machine. i want to try to figure out if the scsi hard drive is still alive as well.
it has a cdrom and a floppy drive connected to it. i made myself a test floppy disk but i can't make the machine try to boot up the floppy since i can't get access to the terminal prompt.
any clues what this computer is? on how i can connect to it?? i could provide urls of pictures of the server if u guys wants to.
