I have setup my AIX PPP server on a AIX workstation with an IP address of 192.0.0.99.

I dial up using an NT workstation and get connected. I am able to do ping, ftp or telnet to this AIX workstation(192.0.0.99). BUT I am not able to ping to other AIX servers in the same network as the AIX workstation with address range of 192.0.0.xxx (eg. 192.0.0.1 and 192.0.0.2).

I tried adding the static route on my NT workstation as follows:

route add 192.0.0.1 192.0.0.99
route add 192.0.0.2 192.0.0.99

But I still cannot ping 192.0.0.1 or 192.0.0.2 on my NT workstation.

Does anyone knows where the problem lies?

Your AIX box must be a defined router/gateway on your NT configuration, and, your AIX must be routing IP packets. Then, try:
[tt]
no -o ipforwarding
[/tt]
Is IP forwarding on (=1)?, if not, then do
[tt]
no -o ipforwarding=1
[/tt]

I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.

Hi,

Sorry for missing out the ip forwarding which was already in 1. I suspect its the limitation of pppattached process. Has anyone succeed in configuring the ppp?

Thanx.
