i am plannin to purchase one of these for practice.. i noticed that most auctions say that u are responsible from gettin a valid licence thru ibm.. what does this mean.. do i need to enter a valid licence that is hardcoded to the cpuid or something ??? thanks in advance

That means that either it will not ship with AIX CD's or that you will need to secure a valid license if you want any sort of support from IBM. If it ships with CD's and you don't want any support from IBM I would say there is no problem.
