Is it possible to partition RS/6000 servers and load 4.3.3 and 5.1 on them similar to partition windows and linux etc? If so how? Has anyone seen a good example of how to do this?

Thanks in advance

Jeremy

Install a separate boot image on a different drive. Select the other drive during boot.

Bill.

Do you know where I can find documentation for the procedure to install a separate boot image? Thanks again

J

All will be revealed in the AIX Installation Guide, just be sure to install on different disks. Process is the same either way, it's not more difficult because the RS6000 has a bootlist in the NVRAM and therefore you don't need to load a "primary" OS and make special mods to it or anything weird. Just load, say, 4.3 on hdisk0 and 5L on hdisk1. For example.
