When I cancel a AIX print job (qcan -x 298), I recieve a message notification from root that the job was deleted. Is there any way I can get stop the notification message from displaying ??

AX02(/)>qcan -x 298
AX02(/)>

Message from root on ax02 (UNKNOWN) [Wed Sep 25 15:22:24 EDT 2002]
Message from queueing system:
Job number 298 (116298) has been deleted from the queue.<EOT>

Presumably this is only coming out on your console device. The easy way out would be to use a different terminal...?

If not, then I think you would have to mess about with /etc/syslog.conf.

Thanks.... this happens on any terminal that you are cancelling the print job from. I take a look at /etc/syslogd.
