Hi,
I have a LPAR running AIX 5.2. I am monitoring this box using BMC Patrol software. I am getting a alert message that says that the number of kernel file slots used is 95%. here is the definition of the parameter that is catching the error.
This parameter displays the percentage of the kernel file slots that are used. This parameter monitors the file table use. Each table entry represents an open file. The table size determines how many files can be opened. If the table is full, the services that require file operations are refused by the system. You may get the message, "File table overflow."
How Can I change this parameter on AIX.
Thanks in advance for your help.
what does this mean?? diskspace appears to be OK on the server.
