When you install filesets through smit with AIX cd's mounted you can't tell from CD1 whats on the other CD's. Right?

When you smit install without the CD being mounted (ie using /dev/cd0) it somehow can tell what filesets are on the other CD's. Any idea how it does this (what file its using to get this info), 'cos its been stumping us for ages (not that anyone is losing sleep over it).

What I'm getting at is finding a way of saving time looking through all the CD's to find one particular fileset.

Cheers in advance,

Mark

I think you can use [tt]lslpp -L /dev/cd0 all[/tt]...
I hope it works...
