I am new to the EMC SAN world. I've successfully expanded an exsisting LUN by creating a MetaLUN on the SAN. The exsisting LUN is configured in AIX as hdiskpower2. I've ran cfgmgr but it does not see the new space. Anyone know how to get AIX to recognize the new space?

TIA

erase the disk devices (hdiskpowerX and corresponding hdiskX) and then "cfgmgr -v"

BTW, it is the VG who must to recognize the new space.

cheers.

Thanks for the tip. It was the VG that needed to see the new space. After I varyed the vg off and on I got a msg:
"516-1434 varyonvg: Following physical volumes appear to be grown in size.
Run chvg command to activate the new space.
hdiskpower2"
Ran chvg -g myvg after varyoffvg and both the disk and VG can see the space. There was no need to delete the disks.
