AIX/DB2/WebSphere question

I have DB2 running on an SP node as database for WebSphere. Corporate security is complaining about the passwords for users db2fenc1, db2as and db2inst1. If I change the AIX passwords, WebSphere stops working. Any suggestions?

Probably the objects in your DB are owned by the DBA user which is db2inst1, by the moment db2 uses as user validation the OS mechanism.
But what do you mean for WebSphere doesn't work?
Web Applications stop to work?

Thanks for the reply sbix. I am not the one who did the test, but I am told that one of the WebSphere processes does not start when the password is changed. Is there a place within WebSphere it possibly su's and it needs the password?
