AIX backups & mksysb

I have just recently installed TSM server and client
on AIX nodes running AIX 5.2
All goes good but now i stuck with the question

How i can take AIX filesystems & system backups called
( mksysb) using TSM
Can any body help me!!

A mksysb is done by the operating system not TSM.

Then it means that TSM could not be used for bare AIX system recovery.
Also as per my knowledge that product sysback ( used
for AIX level backups is integrated by IBM into TSM)
if it is correct then TSM should do remote mksysb.
Ideas ????

TSM cannot do mksysb backups of any sort. You can however use a product for bare metal recovery that ties into TSM. You could use Veritas BareMetal for this. TSM in any way, shape, or form does not do mksysb backup.

I've heard that sysback was built into tsm 5.2 as well, and that it works well. We're still at 5.1, so I have no first hand knowledge. Here's a redpiece that explains it
