I have purchased an 80 GIG Phantom External SCSI drive.

I have one AIX production box and 3 test computers.

Is it possible to provision the drive on a test server -
volumes, groups, file systems etc - and then take the
drive and hook it up to the production so that it will
see the drive and its data? (With appropriate reboots and shutdowns of course).

This would save me the provisioning time on the production server.

Thanks,
Dan

This will work as long as you export the VG on the drive prior to moving it to the new host, then you will need to import the VG onto the new host
