Hi!
I have some LPARS with AIX 6.1 on them. There was Oracle 11 installed, then removed to be reinstalled. Now came the strange phenomemon: when I issue a shutdown -Fr - from an ssh connection -, it takes down much of the processes, but not all. The shutdown procedure stops and I have to open a virtual terminal to get in and issue the shutdown -Fr again.
The few remainder processes used to show up like this:
[tt]
d100# ps -ef
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
root 1 0 0 Jul 20 - 0:30 /etc/init
root 1835126 1 0 Jul 20 - 0:00 /usr/ccs/bin/shlap64
root 2228376 1 0 Jul 20 - 430:36 /usr/sbin/syncd 60
root 2883814 1 0 Jul 20 - 5:41 /usr/sbin/srcmstr
root 4653242 2883814 0 Jul 20 - 0:00 /usr/sbin/portmap
root 13238500 1 0 09:01:31 - 0:00 /usr/sbin/uprintfd
root 16646398 1 0 09:01:31 - 0:00 /usr/sbin/cron
root 18350140 1 0 09:01:31 vty0 0:00 -ksh
root 21692558 18350140 0 09:09:23 vty0 0:00 ps -ef
[/tt]
