AIX 5.3 - EOL? EOM?

I found on ibm.com:

"AIX53: TL12 service pack 1 - Note: this is the last ever TL for AIX 5.3"

does it really mean that no new TLs will be released for the AIX 5.3?

AIX 5.3 LifeCycle page doesn't tell anything about EOM or EOL....

As far as I know AIX 5.3 is supposed to be supported at least until 2012 ...

That would fit with the two year support of a TL if the last comes out in 2010 then we can expect EOS in 2012, there will probably be extended service options for the usual 3 or 4 years after that and then a best efforts option for a year or two after that, all sounds about right to me.

5.2 went EOS in 2009 so a 3 year cycle for 5.3 also sounds about right

5.3 did come out near the end of 2005 so it has lasted quite well given the changes in hardware since then and so its six year life cycle is nearly up.
