Thanks for the symbolic link page. Maybe I was not clear. I am trying to find out what the chgfcparray link is used for I dont see the mention on the page you sent to me MoshiachNow. Did I miss it? Why is it linked ti /usr/liy. Its causeing me problems in my image. I find if I remove the symbolic link & touch an empty file in its place my image runs fine?

OK I looked a little closer here this am & I see that its actually a link to itself! I definately dont understand the use of this at all!

I just wanted to mention that I have just come across this same issue ... we have a bunch of machines that have been up and runnig for a while and they all have the same file:
-r-x------ 1 root system 32046 May 17 19:21 /usr/lib/methods/chgfcparray

All the machines were installed from the same level of install media (AIX5.2 ML 1) and updated to ML 4. Today I just did a new install on a test machine. Installed AIX5.2 ML 1 with:
enable TCB
64bit kernel
JFS2
disable system backups to install any system

I updated to ML 4 and tried to create a sysback tape and had the exact same error ... a chgfcparray creates a link to itself everytime I try to create a backup (if I delete the file then it's re-created when I try to run the backup). Placing an empty file in its' place seems to fix things ... however it would be good to know what's going on here.

Clund I have had no luck as of yet to figure out any additional information on this one. Its an Odd one though. I guess I am kind of Happy that someone else is haveing the same issue with the same fix atleast. Well I'll let ya know if I hear or find out anything more.
