aix 5.2 and /etc/exports

Was there any particular reason that you removed the exports file?? By default I believe the system is going to create it even though you may not be exporting any file-systems...
I run 5.2 on couple of machines and I do not seem to experience this. In fact all my nfs daemons are starting on the reboot and /etc/exports does not seem to get created. Please look in rc.nfs if there is a touch command that is getting executed for the creation of /etc/exports file. as a matter of fact tried that on one of my LPARS and could not reproduce that.
