Does Netscape come pre-installed with AIX 5.2 or does it have to be downloaded or installed manually from the cd?

Thanks

If you have received 5.2 preloaded from IBM, all of the core Netscape filesets should be installed. If you select your console lft/0 to graphical mode at start, you will see the netscape icon on the X-win desktop.

You can verify with lslpp -S | grep Netscape.

It didnt come pre-loaded on my server, I have loaded it from the 6cd set, but when I try to install the netscape packages it prompts me for the "Expansion" cd..

But tonight when I go in to the office I will verify that its not already installed..

Frank,

You will need to install the program yourself. All necessary filesets for 5.2 I could find are

X11.base.rte 4.2.0.0
X11.base.lib 4.2.0.0
X11.motif.mwm 4.2.0.0
bos.rte.libc 4.2.1.14
Netsacpe.communicator.us 4.7.9.1
Netscape.communicator.com 4.7.9.1
Netscape.msg.en_US.communitcator 4.7.9.0

In other words, you need X-win of some variety installed before you can install netscape. The netscape files are in the disk pack but I cannot remember which one. Sorry I wasn't more help. I'm still kinda new to AIX.
