AIX 5.1 to 5.3 - smit update_all or Migration? 1

Is it possible to upgrade from AIX 5.1 to AIX 5.3 by simply executing smit update_all? Or, is it necessary to perform a migration installation?

you'll need to do this from mounted media or a NIM.
