Since I upgraded to AIX 5.1 I get often the message that there is not enough memory. After a little investigation
I found that the parameter "thewall" can no more be changed.
(1/2 of real memory !!!). Is there no workaround as to add more real memory ??? !!!

When/where do you get this message ?
How much memory and how much paging ?

Perhaps i'm wrong but i think that thewall is the limit of memory used by for " AIX internal networks processes " .
So if there is no mbuf errors reported with netstat -v you should'nt have to worry about thewall.

anyone can confirm ?

Sounds more like some SW memory leak.

Please post the result of the following taken while you get these messages:

ps auxw|sort –r +3|head –20

(This shows top 20 memory using processes)

"Long live king Moshiach !"

sorry but at this moment I can enter nothing ...
