AIX 5.1 ML06 upgrade

After installing ML06 on a 44p170 I noticed that the following filesets were not updated:

tru2407->oslevel -rl 5100-06
Fileset Actual Level Recommended ML
-------------------------------------------------------
devices.pci.14106602.rte 5.1.0.51 5.1.0.53
devices.pci.14107802.ucode 5.1.0.0 5.1.0.1
devices.scsi.disk.diag.com 5.1.0.51 5.1.0.54

It looks like the problem was caused by the following missing requisites:

devices.pci.14107802.rte 5.1.0.0 # Base Level Fileset
devices.pci.14107802.ucode 5.1.0.0 # Base Level Fileset

Has anyone seen & fixed this? The required requisite is not on the bas level filesets!

hi,

I think it is a feature of the ML06....it is going to update some filesets although there are no base level of prerequisities.

I met similiar on AIX 5.2 during ML02 installation and solved the "problem" after installing base level of devices.pci.14107802.rte from AIX 5.2 installation CDs.

You have to llok for the missing fileset on your AIX 5.1 CDs...

Its not on the base level CDs.

Go out to the IBM website and do a search for fix central or go to

http://www-912.ibm.com/eserver/support/fixes/fcgui.jsp

You can download any missing filesets you need and install them with smit install_latest

This missing fileset stuff is common in my environment. I've got a mix of 4.3.3 5.1 and 5.2 and have had missing filesets on all levels.
