Is there any difference between AIX 5.1 & 5.2 apart from the machine architecture on which they run ?

Alex

Yes, they are different but they run on the same machine architecture.

What exactly are you looking for?

Cheers

Found a Redbook - thanks for the reply though.

Alex

P.S. They don't run on the same architecture :) 5.2 will not run on some of the older systems whereas 5.1 will

Alexhu,

I understand with AIX 5.2 one of the most significant new features is Dynamic LPARs. A feature that lets you allocate CPU's & Memory across logical partitions on IBM pseries 690 and 670 servers.

Funny I thought the major differance was that 5.2 is as buggy a version as IBM has put out since 3.2. Just my thoughts I guess.[purpleface]

ah well there was 4.2.0, i hope it's not that bad. =)
