Hi
the Intel admins at my work have some extra DLT7000 drives and tapes.
Im running magstar ( the old 5/15 Gb ) and find the prices on tapes not that good compared to standard DLT tapes, so :
Is it worth trying to get a compaq DLT7000 to work on a aix 433 ML 11 ?
any inputs welcome
TIA

well you have nothing to lose seeing that your compression is 40/80gb,you can install it provide you have the drivers,it should work and the device is better

thx for the answer, I wonder about installation :
plug the device and run cfgmgr and see whether my aix has drivers for the DLT loaded ?
I feel Im missing a part here : how to check which devices can be plugged to the aix server and will be recognized by default, is there a command for that ? is it necesary ?
regards
SteenB
