I have a requirement to upgrade an AIX server from 4.3.3.0 to 4.3.3.75

This is to enable me to upgrade Java from 1.1.8 to 1.3.1

Can anyone advise where/how I would gho about this?

Thanks

Need to implement additional password restrictions on AIX 4.3 and 5l systems. Does anyone have a pwdcheck routine to force users to enter a "special character and/or uppercase character" in their password?

We already added the "dictionlist" but security is saying we need to do more to prevent trivial passwords..

Example:
Prevent the use of:
usa123usa123 (repeats) and the above....

use the chuser command

pwdchecks Defines the password restriction methods enforced on new passwords. The value is a list of comma-separated method names and is evaluated from left to right. A method name is either an absolute path name or a path name relative to /usr/lib of an executable load module.

chuser -a pwdchecks user
