I am running AIX 4.3 A couple of the mounted partitions are filling up. I know there is extra logical space left on the machine. I just don't know how to expand the partitions. Someone told me you could do it on the fly. If anyone could help me. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

newins,

you may use chfs -a /filesystem=+no.of 512 blocks

nathans

From command line

smitty chjfs

Change the Size of file system in 512 bit to up the Filesystem Size.

To work out whats on what disk do

lspv -l hdisk1

To work out how much free space you have left on a disk do

lspv -L hdisk1

and look for free PP's

To change the 512k block into Mb do number/2/1024

so 65536/2/1024 = 32Mb
