I have an three RS6000/M80s which, due to issues too long to detail, I am unable to upgrade or migrate away from.

I do, however, need to do something with its storage infrastructure, and some type of SAN solution seems best suited for my needs.

Want I would like to know is if any of you fine folks can recommend some options/alternatives for SAN H/W. I'm sort of looking at a DS4300 as one possible solution.

I'm not too concerned, at least on the first cut, with multi-pathing. I do not plan having these guys boot from SAN, so that is not currently an issue.

Any thing that can get me pointed in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

DS4300, DS8300, ESS, Hitachi........ All good solutions, need to find what best fits your budget and business needs.

Depending on the volume have you thought about NAS (iscsi), you can then use it for other stuff too.

Thanks all for the input. I guess I should have pointed out that I'm also stuck with AIX 4.3.3.0. The DS4300 was my first choice, but I can't find in any of the data sheets that AIX 4.3.3.0 remains as a supported option. The use of the word "supported" there is, obviously, questionable!

I'm fine with having to find something refurbished from some third party reseller, but I need to confirm I can get around the 4.3.3.0 hurdle.

Any further advice?
