AIX 4.1.5??

questions, i know this is a bit awkward though, but just want to ask if anyone of you knows anything about AIX 4.1.5, Is the OS tied up to the machine number during the time they released this OS? Is this how they do the licensing before?

The AIX base OS licensing has never been tied to a specific machine. The number of licenses is set in /etc/security/login.cfg with the maxlogins parm.

Are you having a specific issue that you think is tied to the AIX license?

yeah, when restoring the 415 to another machine, theres some ODM corruption and then,uname errors..after a while, the filesystems is mounted in a /mnt/var,.. etc..
anyway, any idea...
