Hi all, recently I accidentally clicked yes when asked if I should install a third party plugin when browsing a web site.

Now, this plugin has altered IE in a weird way. When I Click the search toolbar it goes to a different search page (not the deafult one), when a site cant be found it redirects to a different DNs error page, the last one is totally messing up my system.

I run a few redirectors that make it appear that a site isnt there even when it is, this stupid plugin has managed to mess everying up and keeps re-directing to its own wierd crap.

Please help, what do I do? How do i remove all these crappy plugins??

Cheers!

You could try the Add/Remove programs in Contol panel on Internet Explorer and select "Restore the previous Windows configuration". This will put you on your older version of IE. Then download IE 6.0 from Windows Update. This should revert you back to normal. I did this procedure to remove a bunch of changes that some third party software did to my IE. It worked for that. SpeedDemon,

First see if it made an entry in Add/Remove programs.

If not, go to the C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files folder and see if an entry exists here. If so, select it and click the Remove button.

Also, backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions

and delete the long CLSID entry containing the name of the bar.
