Hi

Havea client who when starting office 2003 pro word or excell) is always showed the agreement of terms screen. It's registered and activated and a totaly legal version.

Has anyone a way of stopping this? I've tried an uninstall and reinstall with no success

thanks

Ian

It sounds to me like the user configuration files are not being updated on the first run for some reason.

Have you tried making sure Windows and Offices are both up to date? You can do so in one fell swoop by going to
Otherwise, I'm guessing it could be a RAM or hard drive issue on the particular machine.

Also, it's possible that a security program, or user security settings could dissalow the update of the MS Office configuration files.

Hi

via an indepth two hour search of the web have found the solution. It's a vista glitch.

Start each program as an administrator, after that the box is never displayed again

Isn't life wonderful?

cheers

Ian

Yeah, it sounds like the account was not an administrator account, and therefore didn't have access to change configuration files. That's actually partly on purpose, and partly an annoyance for dealing with any installations, practically, on any operating system. If you don't have admin credentials, then you normally aren't supposed to be able to edit any sort of configuration files.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Hi

It's interesting that when L looked at the PC I logged on in my user name and I am listed as ann administrator however when I tried to cure it the screen was still shown, But when I right click run as administrator that cured the problem so it appears that there are two levels of administrator

Lets hope windows 7 is better...

cheers

Ian

That's explainable as well, actually. The reason is that it goes through that process for each user. It's not a per machine, typically, but per user configuration.
