I have a user who wants to automatically send an email to a few internal recipients on a weekly basis without any manual intervention. I am having trouble with the scheduling, if I choose the trigger on schedule I am forced to choose the target all documents in database or all new & modified documents. I just want it to run weekly, send one message and that's it. I don't want it linked in any way to what documents are in the database.

Regards,
Tony.

The target's usefulness depends on what language you use to write the agent.
If you use Formula language, you will indeed by constrained by the target definition. I doubt you want to send a message in hundreds of copies !
If you write the agent in Script, the target is irrelevant to the agent. You define what docs the agent acts upon.

Am I justified in thinking you are writing in Formula language ? In that case, you are probably better off creating a view with one doc per message you want to send, and a list of associated recipients per message. Then you can tell the agent to run on all docs in view and it will work perfectly well.

Pascal.
