Hi,

Does anyone have any idea how can identify which agent (device) who send the SNMP tarp in SNMPv2? Since in SNMPv2, the 'Agent Addr' to identify the device that generate the trap is not available.

Thanks and best regards,

Pui Boontarig

In SNMPv2c and SNMPv3, you are to get the sending agent ip address via the udp header.

This way the layer address can change but not effect the format of the snmp message. i.e. in SNMPv1 you can't stuff a IPv6 address into the 'Agent Addr'
