Anyone have a FAQ laying around somewhere on how to set up a system to allow after hours access into a FastRAD?

Going bonkers trying to do this programming after hours when there's no one there to answer the phone.

Thanks!

You can program a line to pick up directly in the RAD after a set number of rings.

I thought you had to set Class of Service passwords and other things to be able to get this to happen?

Westley

Nope. It is in RAD programming. Just tell it what line you want it to answer, and how many rings.

Ok, if I set RAD up to answer line 064 after 30 seconds, how do I tell the AA/VM not to answer that line?

Thanks,
Westley

You would disable AA answering in System administration, like with any other AA line. But do you mean while in nightmode?

It would be easier to have the RAD pickup earlier than 30 seconds to avoid any CFNA, DRT, or AA.

If AA answers the line then why not use it to go to the RAD?

Well, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

How can I do a F*0 through the AA? I would rather that than have one line set to go to the RAD.

Thanks,
Westley

Sorry what I'm talking about will only work on the CICS. What you can do is put 1 of the lines in a night service and have it assigned to the Rad extension. Then when they close the line would go to the Rad.

Chimney- the answers I gave you assume you have a line (or preferably a DID) that you can dedicate to the RAD, or is not answered by AA. You did not explain in your original post that you need to get around the AA. Are you using DID's? If so its pretty easy to dedicate a spare to the RAD. Otherwise, a dedicated credit card line is a good alternative (if they have one, and the facilities available.)

bkrike,

I've got it set up now. They have eight incoming lines, so I just set the last line to go to the RAD. Went into the CallPilot and turned off the AA for line 8 and bingo.

Answers in five rings, which isn't too bad. Should be long enough to avoid any problems during the day. Just wish I could use the 800 number, but oh well. A long-distance call is still better than a six hour drive.

Chimneysweep,
there is a way to transfer out of AA to a rad but you end up using an ATA and a spare CO port, no guarantee you have the resources to do it with.

connect the analog side of an ATA to a CO port and set that port to RAD answer.
dial in to the AA transfer to the ATA and you are connected.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.
