Background: Upgraded from Accpac 6.0 to Sage ERP 300 2012
Product upgrade 3 loaded, hotfix for assurtion print error applied

The OE Invoice and PO reports that we used in Accpac 6.0 to print on pre-printed stationary, do not print as intended. The page orientation displays correctly on the preview and the paper sizes look as they should.

However, the printed document prints Landscape instead of Portrait although the print preferences on both the print server and redirected printer on the terminal session is configured to only use the pre-printed paper size. We use EPSON dot-matrix / impact printers and all the trays and tractor feed options are configured to only use the custom paper size. Nothing was changed on either the server, terminal server or the workstation, besides the upgrade and the workstation installation on the terminal server.

When you inspect the printer options after the document is rendered, the paper size changed to Letter. Although the page orientation shows portrait, it prints landscape. Only if you set the print options before you click print, the document is printed correctly.

If you design the crystal report on the server in PO61A\ENG (POPOR01.rpt), the paper size has an '18K' selection...? If you select the paper size to the desired custom paper size, the design is totally out of bounds, as if the orientation is landscape and it appears to have changed metric measures to imperial settings.

Anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions why the printer would revert to default (letter) settings and how to fix this permanently? Where would the '18K' paper size setting come from?

Will sincerely appreciate your speedy replies.

1. Dot matrix?!?! In 2014? LOL!!!!
2. POPOR04 is always better than POPOR01, it's not a datapipe.
3. Deleting ..\USER\XXXX\YYYYYY_P.ISM may help

Hi tuba2007,

Thanx for your reply. Always found your tips to be useful. We are working in "DARK AFRICA" my friend - not something to laugh about. Here you work with what you have and what can withstand more than only environmental assaults.

We deleted the YYYYYY_P.ism and had to re-configure the user preferences as intended.

The '18K' error dissipated, but although the printer is configured to only use the custom paper size and the redirected printer on the terminal session reflects every single intended setting, the print job still prints the document landscape and not portrait.

On the printer selection window on the terminal session, the print preference on selection displays 'letter' and only after the custom paper size is selected, prints correctly. If you close the report and print it again, we are back to square one ...
