I completed a system state restore on the sbs 2003.

Rebooted.

Can't get users to LOGON.
the error: "Windows cannot connect to the domain. Either the DC is down or otherwise unavailable, or because you computer account was not found. If this... etc"

also had one user that never logged off the network.

His computer works, and can send and recieve from Exchange.
I am afraid to log him off, not knowing if he will be able to log on again.

the DCDIAG is below, it found some errors from 2 workstations.

I have the user names and computer names built.

Any ideas? Or any direction/tools I can use?

Thank you so much!!

I also tried to add a new computer to the domain.

I get a "Access Denied", this to my understanding means that I can get to the Domain, but there is an issue with the Logon (notice, its the username/password) that has the capability to add to the domain.

thanks,

I did a system state restore over 1 month old.

This had adverse effects with the PC's as well as the User Names/Passwords.

Had to move off the domain into a workgroup.

Then rejoin. Also reset the passwords for some of the users. On some of the PC's, I even had to change the Computer name twice.

Bringing up the last pc now. fingers crossed.

Thank you everyone for your replies! :)

Well. Good job self-diagnosing and medicating. You now know that an old backup of System State comes with some issues. Normally there is a full backup of System State with every full SBS backup.
