After Norton is Installed, a blank screen opens

I have just downloaded Norton Antivirus 2004 for windows XP Home. After I go through the installation process, I get a Norton Antivirus Window that is blank. I can't do anything within that window. It looks as though the installation was successful. I was able to run the updates, but it still won't open. When I try to open the configuration, it does the same thing, just a blank screen. Any suggestions?
