After installing SP2 IIS has issues

After installing Windows 2003 SP2 on one of our web servers, i am unable to browse to the site, i am asked to authenticate, hit cancel and get the following error

HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

Wondering if i have to reinstall IIS, after i back up the config and websites. Any ideas, help.
