Installed updates & everything.
Win2000 pro w/ SP2 & IIS, .Net framework, FP exts.
VS.NET (on 5 CDs)
Classic asp pages run OK. ASPX pages are dislayed but code is not processed - assigning a value to a label doesn't do anything - it stays empty . The only error I get in IIS manager when I r/click on default site and choose check server extensions - it says:
"FP server extensions 2002 are not compatible with current IIS manager.
IIS manager needs to be upgraded " (or smthng close to it).

What can I do to resove the conflict? ...Downgrade FP extensions to 2000?
or upgrade IIS?
How and where?

Can somebody tell me if there is more chances to get ASP.NET working if I Install winXP and then try to install VS.NET?
Thank you.

please refer to this thread:

thread855-351076

and note that I got the path wrong... the path is:

c:\winnt
instead of

c:\programfiles
good luck! :)

Thank you Paul,
I'd like to give it a try.
I'm not sure where do I need to type it in?
Here is my path:
D:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705
What do I do after I typed this line ? - click ENTER or type "aspnet_regiis -i" and then ENTER?

Thank you

No, it didn't work.
Can be something wrong with FP serv ext being too new for my IIS 5?

Thank you,
I'll reformat HD & install 2000 & XP

Hey,
Just before reformatting I decided to check 1 more time if re-installing .NET framework and other components will help.
It did not, but when I decided to open that peky page and hit F5 it worked.
So, typing in the address Http;//localhost/file.aspx into the browser still does nothing and shows html only, but F5 gives working page!

Then you have a caching problem. Don't refomat!
Your pages are simply cached and need to be refreshed. Either turn off caching or Do the following in IE (slightly different for netscape.)

Tools
-> Internet Options
-> Under the general tab
-> Delete Cookies...
-> Delete Files...

The settings in the same place may help you to avoid this in the future. That'l do donkey, that'l do
