After install of SP4 and MS Fixes to Arcserve 2000 backup jobs crawl

Hello All

I've looked hi and low and I'm stumped.

The players

Acrserve 2000 build 1018 (Gold), NT Advance server SP6 Clustered with DEC Raid Array 450, Superstore Ultrium 230 external tape unit AHA-3940 and AHA-2944 and I think the one server with two tape units is on a AHA-1360.

Backup were running around 140-160 MB/M last week,

Friday added Arcserve SP4 Build 1100 and the MS Patches Q815021, Q330994, Q816093, Q818493 and rebooted servers.

Everthing runs fine except the backup jobs, No real help in the event logs or Backup logs...

Now Backups are running 2-90 MB/M, Much slower although they are running.

Any Ideas on what to try, The only thing I can think of is to try and back off the MS Patches and Arcserve SP4 if I can.

I have similar problem.

W2K, Compaq DL360s, MSL5026.. AS2000 - after installing SP4.

Seemed fine until I rebooted.. now backups (on remote servers) creep along. Problem did not manifest itself until reboot of server - which makes me think its a software problem SP4 Created.

Still get normal throughput on remote Exchange agent.. but remote network shares are sloooow. Open file agents in use and I suspect problem is there - though no idea how to correct yet.

Is the slowness only while backing up Exchange or even with normal file system.

...I cant speak for David above... but my own problem is that the remore Exchange agent seems to work fine, and the remote backup of regular shares is terribly slow.
