after effects projects pixelating

I need help! I have a project 800x480 that I am putting together in AE and then exported as a Falsh SWF. However my text and at times background images are pixelating on me. I've tried other formats i.e. AVI, MOV, Mpeg etc. all with the same issue. When I bring a file in from photoshop that is edited to size, it's output on AE cs4, (when exported as a SWF) is pixelated as well. My projects are projected in a movie theater and are edited to spec..... any ideas?
