Hi i have a problem. since my laptop can't really show me a preview i usually export the whole movie so that i can see what i've done. so i want to change a camera move because it's in constant motion and i just want it to get to a point and stop, freeze there for a second then keep moving. but when i edit it in, what happens is that it still moves in between my 2 new points. the in point is the same as the out, but in between it still shifts so it doesn't really stop moving. how do i erase the old camera move and add new ones, or how can i just fix this i don't know what i'm doing wrong.
thanks

You should look in the help file for HOLD KEYFRAME.

This particular keyframe will stop the animation in its tracks for the parameter it's applied to (like position). Then, once it encounters a new keyframe in the timeline, it will pick up the new data and continue using the KEYFRAME INTERPOLATION that you set it to.

Make sense?

If not, post here, and I'll answer with a file.

Hey!

AE doesn't know what to do with the area between your two keyframes. It is trying to smoothly interpolate the move for when it starts again after the second keyframe.

The way around this is to make the first of the two keyframes a HOLD keyframe. When you do this, AE knows not to try anything before the next keyframe.

Also try to use easy ease on your keyframes to smooth out your motion - unless you do that already!
