I have a user that his pc is blue screening a lot. So I imaged another pc (both NT 4 sp6a Office 97 Outlook 98). I had him close Outlook on his pc, I copied the pst file over to his new pc, and now on the pc I imaged, the pst file file structure is there, but no emails. The emails show up on his old machine though. Read somewhere if you compress the pst file (on the new pc), the emails would show up, but they didn't. Copied the pst file to a cd, then copied it to the new desktop, took off the read only attribute, same result. Mapped his current drive to the new pc, same result. The size of the pst file is 18 meg, after compressing it's 16 meg. I have done this quite a few times and this is the first time that this has happened on such a small file.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

From the old machine, open Outlook with the "problem" pst and create a second empty pst in the same session. Drag and drop (copy) all of the emails and folders from the old pst to the new. Close outlook, copy the new pst to the new machine and see what happens.
