Hi, I have just started to receive an error event of: afamgt, with an event ID of 1 and this message: \Device\AFA0\: Controller Battery needs reconditioning please run. Has anyone run across this and could you let me know what it is for. This is on a Dell Power Edge 4600 machine. Thanks for any help.

It's the RAID battery, to recondition go into Dell OpenManage Array Manager, open the arrays folder, open the PERC subsystem folder, you should see your PERC controller, right-click it and go into Properties and there you'll see a button to start the reconditioning. You should do this out of hours though if possible (when disk activity is at a minimum).
