Hello everyone,

I am a Cisco junkie thrown into an Avaya world and now find myself struggling to keep up. I have an S8800 with System Platform 6.0.3.1.3 and AES r5-2-3-110.

I have gotten this far but cannot figure out how to get the AES server to establish a connection with CM. I have gone into CM and "change ip-services" tab 3 I added the server name under Server ID, the password and enabled but the status shows IDLE. On the AES server I added the node name under Switch Connection, put in the password and added CLAN IP's but no active connections.

I am a total newbie to AES, any guiding hand is greatly appreciated!

TLINK

Aquire MAC address of eth0 for RFA license – command is ifconfig from root prompt.
Aquire host name of AES server – command is uname -n, command to change name is ‘hostname allegaes’ for example. This is the name entered in IP-Services on the Communications Manager.
Communications manager will let the AES login if the hostname and password matches the IP-Services information. This may sound confusing at first, especially due to the password being set in the AES OAM Administration web application.

Add OAM users prior to adding the Weblm license.

In Weblm make the user ID and Password admin / weblmadmin for consistency among all Weblm servers we support. In 5.2, setting password twice will allow this.

Set server name and password on CM

Status AE Services on CM

Administer switch connection in AES OAM web application. Login with cust / custpw.

Create a new user account and set the user to be a CTI user.
In OAM, locate this CTI user and assign CTI permissions. This is a two step process.
In 5.2 one website does it all.

Administration
Network Configuration
Switch Connections
Add connection (A shortname is good, this isn’t the hostname)
This name will be part of the TLINK name
Edit connection to supply the IP Services password for CM.
Edit CLAN and use the IP of the CM (Either a CLAN or procr IP Address)
Edit H.323 gatekeeper, this is the IP Address of the AES server.

Enable 4721 and 4722

CTI Link Administration
TSAPI links

Switch Connection, use switch name from above step.
Switch CTI Link number, use the CTI link number from the PBX
ASAI link version – This is from the WebLM license file.

cstaClearConnection() succeeded!
