I keep getting this error on quite a few directories.

AE3022 Invalid path -

These are mostly users directories. After a person leaves the company we delete their directory of course.
But Arcserve insists on trying to back them up even after they are gone.
One suggestion was to put the directories in the filter and exclude them.
But I'm still getting the errors even on the ones that I filtered.
Now I don't know If I'm getting the error because the filter can't find them to filter or if I'm just still getting the error.

We made the mistake of upgrading to arcserve 2000 when it came out and I've had nothing but problems ever since.

Help!

When creating your backup job, do not select directories (even top level directories), select the volume or share instead. If you don't want the backup job to backup specific directories, use the filters option to filter them out.

When you select directories, it selects everything that is currently there. It will always try to back up those directories selected, and it will not back up new directories created unless you recreate the backup job. -----------------------------------------------------

I was trying NOT to do that.

Do I have to list every directory in the tree that I don't want in the filter?
Or just the top level i.e.;

vol1:
dir1
dir2
dir3

so do I have to mention dir1 and dir2 and dir3 or can I just say dir1 and that's it?

Also do I need to include vol1 in the filter to get it to work right?

This could be a lot of directory filters!

Thanks for the help so far.

Does anyone know about this filter stuff?

The manual sure doesn't have much to say.

It's important that I get this backup stuff working right. Soon!!!
