Hi guys,

HELP ME, PLEASE!
I need to restore one WIN2000 Server.
I installed a new Win2K on D:\WINNT2 boot in this, installed the arcserve client and began to restore the Session.
But nearly all the files are skipped or are written odisk but without data in it.
Message: AE0068 failed to write data to file - RC=5 Access denied.

I made this before sometimes and never had troubles like this. With installing a new WIn2K on a different drive it's normally very easy to restore the system.
But now (IS IT SP5 AGAIN???), doesn't work.

Anybody some hints?
Regards,
Peter

Hi guys,

I have to install ARCServe 2000 again applied SP3 (German)not SP5!!
And now everything works fine - Restore the same data as I tried before on the same Server with same configuration.
So I would like to warn everybody:
IF YOU INSTALLED SP5 TRY TO RESTORE YOUR DATA.
Because for me it was unpossible to restore with installed SP5! The backups made with SP5 seem to be ok.

I'm interesting if I'm the only one or if this is really about SP5.

Best regards,
Peter

ArcServe 2000 with Service Pack 5 on the Backup-Server is OK, but you should install at the client AS-SP4 instead of AS-SP5.
Then your Restore Works fine.

@cevdet

thanks for the information.
But nevertheless I ran now ARCServe 2000 with SP3 (German) the clients the same level and everything works fine now again.
I don't see any reason to change again to SP5.

Best reagrds,
Peter
