Advice Please *OFO or Agent*

Hello,

Right now we have B.E. ver 8.6, I dont what to use OFO or Agent-Exchange,SQL Agent. Maybe you could provide input on what to use. When to use OFO and Agent.

What are you backing up and how are you doing it? Those are the questions that need answered.

For example...if you are backing up MS SQL Server, there are two ways to do it.

First...use Backup Exec with SQL Agent to back up straight from SQL Server to tape.

Second....use MS SQL Server and backup to disk (hard drive) then use Backup Exec to copy that file to tape.

The first way you need to have/use SQL Agent, the second way you don't need the SQL Agent.
