I have 2 Netgear FSM726 managed switches and I think I have some network conjestion. I would like to use SNMP to monitor both the switches and gather some useful info. I have never really used SNMP and know very little about it. Can anyone suggest any good free SNMP utilities? Also what OID's should I monitor to troubleshoot network traffic and conjestion?

I would use MRTG as it is free an very complete. It will give you the usage per port.

for windows you can find a version here:

for Linux, it comes with most distributions or can be downloaded from directly

You can also find tools to preconfigure (or discover) your network and based on this use the correct OID's. However I think switch port are fairly standard (interface table)
