Hi all,

this is not a technical question guys but i need your help as i have over than 30 IP sets 16xx series which are dead for different reasons (power, screen, .. etc)

Does anyone know is there any way or place to fix them, i need to reuse them , i see it is a big loss just to throw them away in garbage !!

can anyone help !!

What goes around comes around!!

1600 series phones are relatively cheap and we don't even send them for repair any more because it is almost the same price but then with only 30 day warranty rather than a year.
We send them back to the manufacturer via our distributor.

If you are adventurous you can always open up a few and frankenstein 1 good one out of 2 or 3 bad ones and throw out the rest or send that for repair.
replacing the display is not really hard as long as the rest works.

Sorry for the bad news but we are living in the society of "throw out and buy new" because labour costs for qualified personnel is too high to repair the cheap stuff that has been manufactured with $15 / day labour rates in China.

I wish I could have had a better answer with a good shop to repair them.

The 1600's are pretty easy to "Frankenstein", your advice is probably the best, unless the return and repair is free.

Kind regards

Also Speaker Repair:

I am seeing this quite often lately on the 9508 and 9608 speakers. Usually the handset can be returned DOA or under warranty.
If you come across a handset that is under maintenance but out of manufacturer warranty, have a look in the wire inside the speaker that runs through a post.
The speaker itself is correctly soldered to the tail pair that is soldered to the motherboard. However, on the other side of the soldered connection there is another wire which is gold plated braided cotton. This has shown a tendency to not be correctly soldered to the back of the speaker solder joint. Do a test by bridging the gap between the wire and the solder with a screwdriver and then ringing the phone. If the speaker works you can then resolder it back in place.
Before soldering, remove the rubber gasket surrounding the speaker.
