Advice needed - looking for training course for variety of levels

Hi all,

Happy 2010 to everyone!

I have been tasked with identifying training for myself and 3 colleagues and am a little lost!

A bit of background first - I have 5 years DBA experience but no official training, I've used MySQL, Access and SQL server 2000/2005 in that time and am experienced in PHP and Coldfusion to connect to dbs. As for my 3 colleagues, one was previously MI co-ordinator and has a little database background knowledge, and the other 2 were support for MI and training on databases but are relativly new to the database admin side (i.e. so far have been writing reports along with myself and the other colleague on a sql 2008 database for just over 3 months).

As i mentioned, we need some training but i'm thinking that a fully certified MS SQL course may be a little ambitious for the others (really don't want to sound patronising!), but i would love to do it myself, but what training can i recommend for the others? I spoke to a colleague who has also worked as DBA previously and it was suggested i initially create a 'quiz' of DB concepts to find out what level of understanding everyone has, but where to start on finding a course? We are situated in South Yorks, UK.

The Open University offers a good course on relational databases, M358 Ithink it is; suitable for any literate person who have worked with a database before.

Hiya to you both, and thanks for responding
I went through the w3schools sql test with my colleagues, it does cover part of what we need but as its focused specifically on sql and not any sort of theory of databases, it's not quite what i need, and as for the M358 couse at the OU, i did this a few years back and think it might be more than a little over the heads of the others

maybe what im looking for initially is more of an Access course and build up from there for my colleagues?
