I am considering migration from Netware Servers to Win 2000, I won't go into the reasons, it will be areluctant move.

Anyhow, how many servers or what power of server would be needed to handle around 200 users and around 70-100gb of data, mainly word excel, powerpoint type data.

I know this is a simplistic view but all the great overhead services ( eg, SQL, exchange ) will get there own servers.

I just need to know if say a Xeon 800 server would handle the data an user capacity .

Any advice is appreciated. [sig][/sig]

I am using a P6-200 w/288 MB RAM W/ NT 4 to run file services for over 100 users and it works just fine. @000 has a little more overhead but put 384 MB or more of RAM in your server and you should be able to use it as a simple file server for a very large number of users. One server should be ok, But I would run two for redundancy, both being CD's so they can share load. Dual 1Gz with 1Gig memory should hold u up very nicely.
