Hi,
I use windows 2000 OS and am working on .NET application which require me to have SQL 2000 properly installed and running.
I did install it(named Instance MSSQL). In the service manager I do not see any services - nor can i get the Server to connect to my machine.
being basically a front-end guy, I did follow the wizard instructions during the install -but am not successsful. Would really appreciate if i could get a clue as to where i am missing out.
i also have IIS installed and active...
thanks,
vkul

hi,
in the control panel/Admin tools/services, i can manually start 1) SQLAgent$MSSQL 2)MSSQL$MSSQL. But when i unable to start MSSQLServerADHelper. i get the message "unable to start............."
Niether do i see the above two services in the SQL Server Service Manager ???

hope i can able to convey the situation..

thanks

So, I take it you can't even register the server in Enterprise Manager? You get a message saying it doesn't exist?

Can you connect Through Query Analyzer?
