Greeting everybody,

I am currently using a very old Operating System ( SCO Unix System V-Release 3.2.4.2 ) for unlimited number of users. In fact the total concurrent users i have during peak hours goes up to 125 users. I use Pegasus Senior as Enterprise Software.

Due to support problems i need to upgrade my system. Could anybody help me in choosing something less expensive and reliable at the same time.

What is the latest version of SCO Open Server ?

Looking forward for your comments and suggestions,

Thank you & kind regards.
Salim

I am presently on SCO_SV dev 3.2 5.0.5 and am a tad behind as well. I'm told that SCO_SV dev 3.2 5.7 will be out this fall of 2002.[morning]

I support (or have supported) 4.2,5.2,5.4,5.5 and from a support & reliability view 5.0.5 is winning hands down.
My general impression is that as things evolve they get larger and slower, but it surprised me. Of course it will be 2 generations out of date shortly, but for one who is still supporting Xenix, that isn't a biggie. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Hi Salim,
Unix system V 3.2/4.2 is no longer supported. Present
version of SCO is 5.06 and version 5.07 will be out
sometimes this year. An alternative to SCO is BSD Unix.
Try folowing site for information.
http;// I hope that this will help
